Who is Rae?

A video game, technology, science and entertainment journalist/television and radio presenter, I aim to present news and opinions in a way that can be appreciated by hardcore fans and newcomers alike.

A proud Wiradjuri woman with Greek, Irish, Welsh, German and apparently also Mongolian ancestry, I am a geek Mum to my teenage son (best known as my Padawan).

You can read my work on Gizmodo Australia (where I am a full time journalist) as well as on Kotaku, Lifehacker, Business insider and PopSugar.

You can watch my television appearances The Point (where I host Tuesdays and present an entertainment and gaming segment Thursdays on NITV at 9pm), The Feed SBS Viceland (where I host occasionally), The Project, Today, Sunrise and Today Tonight as well as national news programs on SBS, ABC, Channel Ten, Channel 7 and Channel Nine.

You can and hear my views on ABC Radio National, Triple J, 2SER and 2UE Radio as well as on Gizmodo’s podcast Static, which I produce and host.

I am an experienced actor, voice artist, MC and live host. I tour the country speaking at pop culture, technology, science and and video game conventions and events, MC-ing cosplay competitions, delivering keynote speeches as well as hosting and speaking on panels.

The easiest way to find me is via my social media obsession, however I can also be contacted below.

  1. After seeing Alli’s segment on CNN and visiting Cracked.com to read about her experiment, I came upon your profile. It’s cold here in the U.S. this week and I’m in need of dental work. If I came down to NSW to get warm, would you be willing to pull one of my teeth? I have too many right now and thought a big gap in the middle might look good. Seriously though, very cool of you to let Alli use your pics. I must say, you’re pretty impressive yourself. All the best in the future.
